Illuminae

By Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Illuminae is not your typical book. It is written in the form of recovered documents (like Instant Messages, emails, interview and schematics).

I have never before read a book like this. I defiantly found this writing style very unusual, and not many authors would be able to pull it off.

The page designs were gorgeous. I could not have thought of a better way to show a book. And they complimented the story extremely well.

The actual story was extremely enjoyable, but due to Illuminae being written in the way that it was, the only character that I connected with is ADIAN, the Artificial Intelligence.

I would recommend Illuminae to someone who wants to read a book that is not written in a normal way, as well as YA and sci-fi lovers.

5/5

  3. Amazing blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?

I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.

Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are
so many options out there that I’m totally confused ..
    Any recommendations? Thank you!

      Thanks!

I would recommend that you start off with a free blog platform like WordPress (which is what I use for this blog) as it is easy to navigate if you do not know any coding. I would also recommend that you get a basic understanding of coding (mainly links and bolding text) as it gives you more control over your content. As for writing just put words onto paper (or in this case screen). I didn’t do English in my last year at high school and only just passed it the year before so as long as you enjoy what you write then go for it! Hope that this helps.

  5. Howdy would you mind stating which blog platform you’re using?
I’m looking to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a
hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

  10. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the page layout of your
website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so
people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures.
Maybe you could space it out better?
