Young Adult

Young Adult books are generally aimed for 13-18 year old, but anyone can enjoy these!  Below i have listed some of my favorites, that i would recommend for you.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson and the Olympians – The Lightning Thief

By Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson is definitely one of my favorite series with 5 books in total, as-well as multiple companion books.  Rick Riordan writing style very entertaining for younger readers.  There is a follow on series called The Heros of Olympus which is just as good.

Across the Universe

Across the Universe

By Beth Revis

One of two book trilogies that i enjoyed all 3 books, the other being The Lord of the Rings.  Set on a spaceship, set to colonize another distant world, Across the Universe appealed to my Science Fiction loving self.

The Maze Runner

The Maze Runner

By James Dashner

I read The Maze Runner whilst i was in High School once the trilogy had come out.  Such a great read that i read all night, not that i would recommend doing so.  The movie does not do the book justice in my opinion.

Divergent

Divergent

By Veronica Roth

Set in the future, Divergent is all about people not fitting in as society deems they should.  Divergent has a good moral message that to me got lost in the 2nd and third book.  Still Divergent is an entertaining read.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games

Bu Suzanne Collins

No Young Adult book list would be complete without The Hunger Games.  Made extremely popular by the movies, The Hunger Games is about bravery, and sometimes having the courage to do thing that you would never think of doing.
