Summary from Goodreads.
This is the manga adaptation of the novel written by Claudia Gray. While I did read the original novel when it first came out, I cannot remember a thing bout it! So I will not be comparing the two since I while I have re-read my review of the original, that is not enough to go off to compare this adaptation to.
The story is only part of what occurred in the novel, with 2 more volumes after this one. In the first volume, we get introduced to Thane Kyrell and Ciena Ree. Both are from a backwater planet who through events end up becoming friends and joining the Imperial Academy together. While 2 major things do occur during this first volume, it felt like it is setting up for what is to come. I was not too connected to the story line and none of the characters really made me concerned about the events that they went through.
The art style is typical of most mangas. I actually think that it suited this adaptation since it is aimed towards to young adult audience.
A good manga that most will enjoy.
