Black Adam lays down an ultimatum for his home of Kahndaq and John Henry Irons investigates the dead body of Lex Luthor with the help of…Lex Luthor?! Week 3 of the DC Comics series by superstar writers Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka and Mark Waid!

Summary from Goodreads.

Week 3 of 52 takes us to Gotham City, as well as Kahndaq and Metropolis.

We get our first proper introduction to Black Adam, who leaves a lasting impression. He is the ruler of Kahndaq and we get to see him both acting as the ruler inside his country and outside of his country.

We also get introduced to Lex Luthor, who is trying to clear his name from when he was president. Booster Gold is still trying to use Skeets to have knowledge of the present and use that to his advantage.

The art style in this issue was a lot less dark than the first 2 weeks. This is down the characters that were this week’s focus being more positive, like Booster Gold. The artwork does not feel blocky or distracting from the main focus of each panel, but each character is given enough detail so that they do not feel out of place.

Week 3 of 52 is setting up what should be some very interesting plots going forwards that I cannot wait to see how they will play out.

4/5
