Blogger Recognition Award

Thanks to Jer’s Comic Books for nominating me for the Blogger Recognition award! Jer’s Comic Books reviews comic books and gives a nice, different views on them.

How uncovered-books began:

I decided to create uncovered-books over a year ago now. I had just had a run of reading very bad books and I was fed up of the summary of the books misleading me in what actually occurred. I decided to review the books so that people would not have to suffer reading bad books and wasting time on them like I did. I had never considered doing anything like this before, mainly as I hated English at school and dropped out of it a year early; you can probably tell this as my spelling sucks and I am just not great with words. If I had done something like this in High School for English, I suspect that I would have enjoyed it more, but I am enjoying the learning process of putting words onto paper (on in this case, screen) and I am finding that my reviews are starting to get longer as I feel more comfortable and confident with how I get my thoughts across.

Advice for new bloggers, or people who are interested in blogging:

Do not start blogging for money. If your starting goal is to earn money, or get more followers on social media then just stop. Blogging is something that your readers can tell if you enjoy or not. It comes across in what you write. I find that their are two different types of blogs, personal ones (where it is intended for keeping family and friends up-to-date), and then their are ‘passion blogs’ (this is a passion blog for me). I would recommend deciding on what type of blog that you want to start, and stick with it. If you have another idea, start another blog around that idea if it does not fit within your current blog. More important than any of that is that you need to enjoy what you are writing about. The writing does not need to be amazing (take me for example); it does not need to be very long (some of my reviews are only about 100 words); you do not even need to be consistent in when you post, as long as you are enjoying it and not posting for the sake of it that is all that matters as it is yours.
