Steven Spielbreg
By Molly Haskell
I received a free copy of Steven Spielberg for my honest opinion.
Steven Spielberg is one of my favourite directors so for me it was a no-brainer to pick up a book about his life and how he became a film maker.
Each chapter was divided up into the films that he created. Haskell explains Spielberg’s motivations and inspirations for the movie and how his life up to that point affected his approach to it. It was interesting to see how he grew as a person and how much his childhood still affects how he directs and produces movies.
The actual writing of it was very boring. I was unable to engage with the text, so it was a good thing that I am interested in Spielberg so I was able to continue on when the writing was not encouraging me to.
If you enjoy Steven Spielberg’s film’s and want to find out how he got inspiration for them, then this biography should answer some questions.
