The Walking Dead Volume 1 Review

The Walking Dead Volume 1: Days Gone Bye

By Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore (Illustrator)

Since I want to start watching The Walking Dead TV show, I thought that it would be best to start with reading the comic book series first.

I think that I may need to read another couple of volumes before I start to get emotionally attached to this series, or even make sense of what is happening.

I will admit that I am a tad confused by this first volume. Its not like the plot was all over the place and I was jumping around all over the place, I am still struggling as to how it did not make sense. I suspect that it was due to this being the first volume and things will be explained later on.

The art style was enjoyable, although I did read some reviews who said that it reminded them of how graphic the TV show is and I remember thinking ‘which bit was graphic’? Since I watch Game Of Thrones, I think that I may have just started to get used to graphic violence though.

If you enjoy the TV show, I suspect that you will enjoy the original story in the comic and you will probably be able to see the changes that they have made from the comic to the TV show.
