Marvel Knights Spider-Man Volume 1: Down Among The Dead Men
By Mark Miller, Terry Dodson (Illustrator)
Spider-Man Volume 1: Down Among The Dead Men collects issues #1 – #4.
Spider-Man has grown up! Down Among The Dead Men follows Peter Parker in his 40’sish. He is a teacher now and Mary-Jane has gotten famous. Honestly Peter Parkers normal life was quite boring (and not much explanation went into explaining what happened before the events of this comic).
The art style was not the best, at times it seemed like their was too much going on on the page. I got distracted from the actual story and its purpose at times.
The saving grace was the story line. I found it really interesting as to how a superhero would react if anyone found out their secret identity and how they handle it.At times it did seem to jump around and have some jumps in logic which I did find annoying but they were easily explained later on.
The main reason why you would read this volume is the story and how a superhero would react with his secret identity being found out.
4/5
