The Hostage
By Sophie McKenzie
The Hostage is the second book in the Medusa Project series.
As a whole I enjoyed this novel, and I am interesting in seeing how this story is going to progress. For me it was the writing style that really annoyed me. Also, I am so sorry Mum and Dad if I sounded half as bad as the kids in the book did. If you told me that the word ‘babe’ was used on almost every other page I would not be surprised.
None of the characters we that interesting, even thought they have special powers. These powers are Telekinesis, Visions, Mid-reading and immunity to damage. With 4 teenagers having to deal with these powers, as well a school and having to do missions with these powers, you would have thought that this would have made an awesome combination.
The plot was very predictable. I was able to guess what was going to happen during the majority of the novel. This left me not guessing why things were going as they were and I got bored easily.
Overall an interesting read, but do not expect a mind-blowing one.
3/5
